On May 18, 2001, All Anime World went online. Back then, the internet was a completely different place. Anime was still a niche topic; fans gathered on small personal websites, forums, and guestbooks, and every new connection felt like a little miracle.
25 years, 2 months, and 12 days have passed since this website was founded. Every visitor who was here back then is now that much older. Maybe you have a career now, a family, or are even living on the other side of the world. Maybe you only vaguely remember the name of this site. And maybe that’s exactly why you’ve found your way back here.
All Anime World was never just a website. It was a gathering place for people who shared the same passion. Here, friendships were formed, people laughed together, discussed things, and created memories that have lasted to this day.
Over time, all the members went their separate ways. The community dissolved, life wrote new stories - and at some point, the website disappeared from the internet for many years.
Today, it’s back.
Not as a modern reinterpretation, but as a digital time capsule. The goal was to preserve All Anime World as faithfully as possible - as a contemporary document from the early days of the first anime era, long before anime became commercialized worldwide and streaming platforms were the norm.
Nearly all of the content from the original website has been preserved.

All user accounts still exist. Even the passwords used back then have been preserved unchanged. If you remember your old login credentials, you can still log in today just as you did back then.
Even the old links from the original website work again - even if they still use the historical URL format. Anyone who has saved old bookmarks or links can still use them today.
On purpose.
The redesign wasn’t focused on modernization, but on preserving history. That’s why the design is deliberately modeled after the 2005 version.
However, this also means that there is no special menu for smartphones or tablets. When this website was created, such devices simply didn’t exist yet. The site was designed for the computers of its time - and that’s exactly how it should remain.
Today’s internet is fast, loud, and constantly changing. All Anime World dates back to a time when personal websites were created with a lot of passion, and communities were brought together not by algorithms, but by shared interests.
Maybe you’ll rediscover your own fan art here. Maybe you’ll find photos from a convention you attended over fifteen years ago. Maybe you’ll even come across your old username or remember people with whom you spent countless hours.
If this website brings a smile to your face or brings back a long-forgotten memory, then it has served its purpose.

All Anime World was so much more than just a website to me. It was a part of my life, and you were a part of it. I miss the conversations, the fun we shared, and the time we spent together here.
Maybe chance will bring you back here one day.
And when that happens, All Anime World will be waiting for you - just like it used to.

On 18th May 2026 All Anime World turned 25!
So there’s actually a reason to celebrate - if it weren’t for the fact that all our visitors have completely abandoned us.
But Sakura wouldn’t be Sakura if she hadn’t, in a nostalgic surge of emotion, set up the old website and browsed through it with tears in her eyes.
Over the past 25 years, a huge amount of content has accumulated. Many members of the forum helped contribute to the site. I actually found it sad that, due to time constraints, I never even tried to save the site. Shame on me! All Anime World is a relic from the “good old days.” With the website’s shutdown, countless memories have vanished from the web.
The old site was a place where I spent many years of my life. I made many friends there and collected many memories. It’s important to me that these memories aren’t lost and that the site continues to exist.
Well, the old site is beyond saving. I’ve found more security vulnerabilities in TYPO3 v4.7 than there are holes in a Swiss cheese. Neither the programming language nor the database is supported in any way. But with the technology available in 2026, it should be possible to restore that old thing, right?
Thanks to modern technologies like Symfony, Twig, Stimulus, Strapi, CSS3 (grid layouts), and Bootstrap 5 - and, last but not least, modern AI - it seems possible to me to restore the old site.
I've decided not to simply copy the old site, but to redesign it in a modern style that preserves the charm of the original. In doing so, I'll retain many of the old design elements and content, such as the 88x31 buttons, the retro frames, the old colors, and the old fonts.
To express my conviction, I’ve decided to put the unfinished site online. This puts some pressure on me to finish the site and allows you to watch me do it and support me with feedback.
That is, if anyone notices what I’m doing.
