A Love Tragedy

Long time ago, there was a boy and a girl who fell in love with each other. The boy was from a poor family. and in contrast, the girl was from one of the richest families in the country. One day, the girl's father found out about this, and firmly disagreed to this love and was determined to end it. Unfortunately, one day, the boy was shocked to know that the girl was dying of an uncurable disease, but he knew that he couldn't meet the girl.

After one week, as the boy grew more worried, he begged the girl's dad to see her last moment of her life, and promised that this would be the last time they would be together. To the boy, just one gaze over her was more than enough, and he begged day and night to the father. But the father took no pity. However, the mother was touched by the boy's love for her daughter, and agreed to secretly deliver a letter to the girl for the boy. But the boy was confused and was scared that the father would possibly see the letter. So he.... Wrote this 25 lined letter:

The great love that i have for you

is gone, and i find my dislike for you

grows everyday. When I see you,

I do not even like your face;

the one thing that I want to do is to

look at other girls. I never wanted to

marry you. The last conversation we had

was very boring and has not

made me look forward to seeing you again.

You think only for your own good,

and if we were to be married, I know that I would find

life very difficult, and I would not even have a bit

pleasure in living with you. I have a heart

to give, but it is not something that

I want to give to you. No one is more

selfish and foolish than you, and you weren't

able to care for me and help me.

I sincerely want you to understand that

I speak the truth. You will do me a favor

if you think this is the end. Do not even try

to answer this. Your words are full of

things that do not interest me anymore. You have no

true love for me. Good-Bye! Believe me,

I do not care for you. Please dont think that

I am still the boyfriend who loves you.

After the girl read this letter, she kept on weeping as her heart was pierced by a thousand knives as she read each line of the letter. She thought that she had found some one that truely loved her before she died. She never could have thought that her love would have wrote this to her. Losing her hope to live, she fell to the ground, and never woke up anymore.

Maybe this was all God's play, that she never got to finish reading the letter. Behind the letter, another note was written:

"My beloved one, read only the odd lines of this letter, and you will realize my eternally lasting true love for you..."

If only the girl had finished reading this letter, maybe she wouldn't have died weeping. When the boy knew that the girl passed out, he was struck by a knife in the heart, and was speechless till then. One day, the boy came in front of the girl's grave and sat down. His only wish was to stay with this girl he loved forever and ever. The days of waiting, not-eating, and not-drinking passed, as he too, died. There he lay, eternally with his loved one.

One year later, a big tree grew beside the girl's grave. The big tree shed the grave from sunlight day by day, just like a guardian of the grave. Maybe the boy reincarnated into this tree, protecting his "beloved one" day by day, eternatlly..........
